I'm Aniket Paul, an Assistant Professor based in Gujarat, India, where I teach undergraduate students cybersecurity concepts, digital forensics, and programming fundamentals. My classroom extends beyond slides โ€” I run hands-on security labs where students get comfortable with tools and techniques that real analysts use every day.

My relationship with Linux started as curiosity and evolved into a daily practice. I troubleshoot, experiment, break things intentionally, and rebuild โ€” because that's how I truly understand how systems behave under pressure. This philosophy shapes every course I teach.

Beyond systems, I'm deeply interested in threat intelligence, OSINT methodologies, and how open-source information can be leveraged both offensively and defensively. I follow the AI space closely and actively integrate AI-assisted workflows into research and teaching.

My approach to cybersecurity education is simple: you cannot defend what you don't understand from the attacker's perspective.

"Security is learned best when you're allowed to break things."

I structure labs so students encounter real failure modes โ€” misconfigured services, vulnerable code, unexpected system behavior. I encourage adopting the attacker's mindset: not to cause harm, but to fully understand the attack surface. Practical learning, honest experimentation, and intellectual curiosity are the pillars of my classroom.

What Makes Me Different

Most portfolios show what someone knows. This shows how I actually think.

๐Ÿง

Linux is my daily driver

Not just a lab tool. I use Linux as my primary OS โ€” troubleshoot kernel issues, configure services, debug package conflicts. Real usage builds real intuition.

๐Ÿ”ฌ

I go beyond the curriculum

Security tools I experiment with aren't on any syllabus. I explore them because they're interesting โ€” that curiosity is what keeps me genuinely ahead.

AI + Security โ€” not separately

I actively explore AI prompt engineering alongside cybersecurity workflows. These aren't separate interests โ€” they compound into sharper threat modelling and better research.

I learn through real failure

Broken configs, failed mounts, unexpected system behaviour โ€” these are my classroom. I don't wait for a structured lesson. I debug until I understand why.

vs
Typical Portfolio
  • โ€“ Clean presentation
  • โ€“ Academic framing
  • โ€“ Slightly generic
  • โ€“ Lists tools, not how
  • โ€“ Shows what, not why
  • โ€“ No personality signal

This site tries to bridge that gap โ€” the terminal, the attacker's tagline, the UGC NET badge. These aren't decoration. They're signals.
